The above image is the result of my attempts to imitate warm and natural lighting interacting with various surfaces in a single room. I used a combination of directional lights, area lights, and HDRI light portals to achieve a feeling of comfort and simplicity. I rendered the AOVs I needed to mask, correct, and fine-tune specific elements of the shot without having to re-render. An exciting advancement for myself was learning of the Cryptomatte pass in Arnold. With this, I can mask elements on a per-object basis in post-production to make the adjustments I need easily.
